BBTH offers assessment and treatment for children from 0-8 years with or without a diagnosis. We support children and families to help them develop the skills needed for daily activities and independence using a bottom up approach focussing on “why” the task is challenging.
Our OT’s can help with the following difficulties

- Assessing Developmental Delays: OTs evaluate children’s physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities to identify any developmental delays or disabilities.
- Improving Fine and Gross Motor Skills: They help children develop fine motor skills (e.g., writing, cutting with scissors) and gross motor skills (e.g., running, jumping).
- Enhancing Sensory Processing: OTs assist children with sensory processing issues to better respond to sensory stimuli, which can include touch, sound, and movement.
- Supporting Self-Care Skills: They teach children how to perform everyday tasks independently, such as dressing, eating, and hygiene.
- Promoting Social and Play Skills: OTs help children develop the social skills needed for interacting with peers and engaging in play, which is crucial for learning and development.
- Adapting Environments and Tasks: They recommend modifications to the child’s environment (e.g., classroom, home) and adapt tasks to match the child’s abilities.
- Collaborating with Families and Educators: OTs work with parents, caregivers, and teachers to provide strategies and support for the child’s development across different settings.
- Using Therapeutic Techniques: They employ various therapeutic techniques, such as sensory integration therapy, play therapy, and exercises to improve coordination and strength.
